Mibba's June Article Contest: Summer Move Reviews

Mibba’s June article contest has begun. Here’s some information on this month’s contest.

Subject: Write an article that reviews a film that you have seen recently, or you can write a preview for a film soon to be released! We’re looking for an article that discusses plot development, acting, script, et cetera - but make sure not to have too many spoilers! Then, when you’ve finished it, submit it for approval and post the link here when it is approved.

Entry Deadline: June 20, 2012

Do you want (more) comments for your stories? There is a way to get them now. The only thing you have to do is comment on other stories. For each comment you send, you’ll get one back.

…select a story you want to receive comments for and then select the type of stories you want to read and comment on. Mibba will find a story for you. You probably won’t have to wait too long, it depends on the number of users using this feature and the type of stories you select.

After you post your comment, you can go back and ask for another comment.

RULES
1. You have to post real comments.
2. Comments have to be 200+ characters long (not words). That’s not too long so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Mibba's June Poem Contest: Haikus

Mibba’s June poem contest has begun. Here’s some information on this month’s contest.

Subject: Write a haiku to address something you witnessed recently in nature, such as a bad storm or the changing seasons.

Entry Deadline: June 20, 2012

Winners Announced: July 1, 2012

Rules:

  • Entries must be properly formatted. Obviously poetry bends grammatical rules, but any non-traditional English must serve an artistic purpose and not be sloppy.
  • You may enter one poem, and no prewritten poems will be accepted.
  • You must classify your poem correctly.
  • Mibba’s writing guidelines and poetry rules excerpt from the comprehensive rule list must be followed.

Subject: Write a historical fiction piece under two thousand words about any topic of your choice.

  • There is no word count minimum, but stories must be under 2,000 words.
  • Please include a description of the historical person,event or period you decide to write about in the summary.
